Ozone Destruction – Safe and Efficient Residual Ozone Removal

Ozone Destruction – Safe and Efficient Residual Ozone Removal

In ozonation plants, gases exiting the contact chamber(s) often contain unreacted ozone that must be safely decomposed before being released into the environment. To achieve this, installing an ozone destructor is essential.

Ozone Destructor Functionality:

Efficient Ozone Removal – Ensures the complete destruction of residual ozone that was not consumed during the ozonation process.
Thermal or Catalytic Decomposition – Depending on the application, thermal or catalytic ozone destructors can be used to effectively break down excess ozone into harmless oxygen.
Environmental Compliance – Prevents ozone emissions, ensuring a safe and eco-friendly discharge.

By incorporating an ozone destructor, ozonation systems maintain efficient, safe, and regulatory-compliant operations in industrial and municipal applications.

Longking Ozone Destruction Units – Thermo-Catalytic Reaction for Safe Ozone Removal

Longking designs and manufactures high-efficiency Ozone Destruction Units (ODUs) based on thermo-catalytic reaction technology, ensuring the safe and effective decomposition of residual ozone into oxygen before release into the atmosphere.

How It Works:

1️⃣ Ozone Gas Recovery – Ozonated gas is collected from the top of the contact tank and directed into the ozone destructor using a blower system.
2️⃣ Moisture Removal – Due to the high humidity in the gas stream, all destructors are equipped with a demister to capture water droplets. In severe cases, a liquid collection tank is installed before the destructor.
3️⃣ Controlled Heating Process – The gas stream passes through a reactor, where its temperature is precisely controlled by a microprocessor, allowing adjustable temperature ranges based on weather conditions.
4️⃣ Catalytic Ozone Decomposition – The heated gas moves through a high-efficiency catalyst bed, where ozone is dissociated into oxygen (O₂) in a safe and efficient process.
5️⃣ Optimized Gas Capture & Release – The ozone-free gas is absorbed by the blower, which includes vacuum measurement and automatic adjustments for maximum efficiency. The final oxygen gas is then safely evacuated through the exhaust chimney.

With advanced automation, optimized gas handling, and high-efficiency catalytic conversion, Newland’s Ozone Destruction Units ensure environmental compliance, safety, and reliable ozone removal in industrial and municipal applications.
