New order for 90 kg/h in Spain
Santillana DWTP (Madrid, Spain): Longking EnTech Europe Awarded 90 kg/h LOX-Fed Ozonation Contract (Pre- and Intermediate Ozonation + CFD Study)
Longking EnTech Europe has been selected to supply and commission a 90 kg/h high-efficiency ozonation system for the Santillana Drinking Water Treatment Plant (Madrid, Spain), operated by Canal de Isabel II. The plant treats 345,600 m³/day and the new installation is intended to reinforce both pre-ozonation and intermediate ozonation, supporting water quality and operational resilience.
The scope covers a complete ozone generator system engineered for automated dosing across pre- and intermediate ozonation.
Scope of supply
The project covers the turnkey installation, commissioning and start-up of an ozonation system producing 90 kg/h of ozone from liquid oxygen (LOX).
A key element of the engineering scope is a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) study to assess contact chamber performance and optimize hydraulic behavior and ozone transfer efficiency—critical factors when designing large municipal ozonation systems.
Ozone system configuration (NLO Series)
The system is based on three 30 kg/h NLO-series ozone generators (vertical configuration), designed for stable performance and energy-efficient operation across varying plant conditions.
The installation has been engineered for fully automated operation, enabling accurate ozone dosing control for both pre-ozonation and intermediate ozonation process points.
Monitoring and operational visibility (SENTINEL)
The new installation will integrate the SENTINEL remote monitoring platform, providing real-time visibility of key operating parameters and alarms—supporting faster troubleshooting and more proactive maintenance planning (subject to site access policies and cybersecurity requirements).
Project context
Santillana is a long-standing reference in municipal drinking water treatment in Spain. This contract reflects continued investment by Canal de Isabel II in advanced treatment technologies that strengthen multi-barrier performance without relying solely on conventional chemical dosing.
At the time of this award announcement, installation works were underway and commissioning was scheduled for summer 2022.
Juan Ponce, Commercial Manager at Longking EnTech Europe, commented:
“This award confirms the role of ozonation as a key technology in modern drinking water treatment. We are proud to support Canal de Isabel II with an engineered, automation-ready system designed for reliable long-term operation.”
This post announces the contract award. Longking EnTech Europe delivers municipal ozone generator systems integrating oxygen supply concepts (LOX/PSA, project-dependent), automation, monitoring and safe integration into existing treatment lines.
