New order for 90 kg/h in Spain

High-Capacity Ozone System for the Santillana Water Treatment Plant (Madrid, Spain)

Longking EnTech Europe has been selected to supply and commission a 90 kg/h high-efficiency ozone system for the Santillana Water Treatment Plant (Madrid, Spain), operated by Canal de Isabel II. The plant treats 345,600 m³/day and will reinforce both pre-ozonation and intermediate ozonation to improve water quality and operational reliability.

Project Scope and Ozone System Configuration

The project includes the turnkey installation, commissioning and start-up of 90 kg/h of ozone produced from liquid oxygen (LOX). The scope also incorporates a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) study to analyse contact chamber performance and optimise ozone transfer efficiency and hydraulic behaviour.

The ozone system consists of three 30 kg/h vertical NLO-series generators, designed for high energy efficiency and stable performance under varying operating conditions. The installation has been engineered for fully automated operation, ensuring precise ozone dosing across pre- and intermediate ozonation stages.

Engineering Standards and Digital Monitoring

All equipment supplied has been designed according to the strictest engineering, safety, and end-user specifications, guaranteeing robust operation and long-term reliability.

The new installation will integrate the SENTINEL remote-monitoring platform, enabling real-time supervision of operating parameters, alarms, energy consumption, and predictive diagnostics.

A Key Ozone Installation in Spain

The Santillana system will become the second largest ozone plant operated by Canal de Isabel II and one of the largest municipal ozone installations in Spain, reinforcing the company’s commitment to advanced, chemical-free water treatment technologies.

Installation works are already underway, with commissioning scheduled for summer 2022.
